Stronger Carers, Stronger Families is our new programme for parent carers in Bromley who look after children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Expressions of interest are open now.
With funding from the Bromley Community Fund, administered by The London Community Foundation, we will run three 12-week programmes for 36 parent carers.
Time for the person behind the caring role
Parent carers spend their days making sure their children get the right support, and their own wellbeing often comes last. This programme gives some of that time back, with a small group of people who understand.
What the 12 weeks include
- Group sessions: meet the same small group each week. Most sessions are online, with some activities face to face.
- Individual support: one-to-one wellbeing support to think about your own goals, needs and next steps.
- Practical tools: ideas you can use in family life, and the confidence to speak up for your child and yourself.
Who can express interest
Parent carers who live in the London Borough of Bromley and look after a child or young person with SEND. Expressing interest does not confirm a place. We will contact you about whether you are eligible, which group has space, dates and how the sessions will run.
