In July 2025 our team visited media houses and government offices across Oyo State. We went to share updates on our work, to listen, and to talk about how we could raise awareness of disability together.
Our visits included the Nigerian Tribune and the NTA Ibadan Network Centre.
What we talked about
We talked about the rights and needs of people with disabilities, and the daily work of the parent carers who look after them. Everyone we met shared the hope that Oyo State can become an example of disability inclusion for Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
Media partners offered to support awareness campaigns and features, and to cover our outreach. Government partners said they would work with us to promote policies and settings that support families affected by disability.

Why it matters
When more people understand disability, it is easier for families to ask for help. These partnerships will help us carry that message across Oyo State as we build OAK Centre Prime in Oolo Town.
