On 7 October 2025, a year after Abigail died, we held a Remembrance and Disability Awareness Rally in Ogbomoso. We walked from the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary to the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso.
Our message was simple: no child with a disability should be unseen or left behind.
Representatives of Community Special Basic School, Arada, walked with us. So did Bowen University Teaching Hospital, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, volunteers, people from the Oolo community, parents, carers and the media.

At the palace
At the palace we met His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomoso. Our Chief Executive presented him with the full album of OAK Centre Prime, and we shared our hopes for the families it will serve.
Abigail’s legacy
Abigail died in October 2024, aged 16. The day celebrated her life, and reminded everyone there that every child, whatever their ability, deserves a place to belong, learn and thrive.
We are building OAK Centre Prime in Oolo Town in her memory. Read Abigail’s story.
