Raising Our Voices: How OAKonsult is Igniting National Awareness on Disability in Nigeria .

Across Nigeria, millions of children with disabilities are still hidden in the shadows—unseen, unsupported, and unheard. But OAKonsult is changing that narrative. One conversation, one community, and one campaign at a time.

In the weeks leading up to the groundbreaking of OAK Centre Prime on April 22, our team has been actively engaging across Nigeria to spark urgent conversations around disability awareness, inclusion, and equity.

Because children with disabilities don’t just need our sympathy—they need our voices, our actions, and our commitment.

🧡 A Wave of Advocacy Across Nigeria

From heartfelt interviews to thought-provoking panels and on-the-ground community outreach, OAKonsult has been making waves across both traditional and digital media.

Here’s a glimpse into what we’ve been up to:

🔹 Media Appearances:
Our founder, Olufunke Adeloye, has been featured on local TV and radio, sharing Abigail’s story and the vision behind OAK Centre Prime. These powerful interviews have reached thousands—many hearing for the first time what life is really like for families raising a child with disabilities in Nigeria.

🔹 Community Dialogues:
We’ve hosted gatherings in schools, churches, and community halls, opening safe spaces for parents to share their experiences, for children to be seen, and for entire communities to begin rethinking disability not as a limitation, but as part of the beautiful diversity of life.

🌍 Why This Matters More Than Ever

Did you know that over 90% of children with disabilities in Nigeria never attend school?
Or that many are kept hidden due to stigma and fear?

OAKonsult’s recent advocacy efforts aren’t just about awareness. They’re about breaking generational cycles of silence and neglect—and paving the way for real change.

Change that starts with the groundbreaking of OAK Centre Prime, a facility designed to serve, educate, and empower children with disabilities with love, dignity, and purpose.

🏗️ A Legacy in the Making: Oak Centre Prime

On April 22, 2025, we break ground on 35 acres of possibility in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

OAK Centre Prime will be:

  • A sanctuary for children and young people with disabilities
  • A hub for therapy, inclusive education, and vocational training
  • A model for holistic, faith-informed disability support in Nigeria

This groundbreaking is more than a construction project. It’s a promise to every child who’s ever been left behind that you are seen, you matter, and you belong.
