A programme that equips all parent-carers with holistic workshops, peer support and practical tools to thrive
OAKonsult, in collaboration with Bromley Council, Your Voice in Health & Social Care, SEND Parenting and STUBS Disability Services, is excited to have received funding from the Civil Society Roots 3 Programme to develop a programme called ‘PROJECT ME’!
We will develop a holistic programme including workshops, training, practical sessions, focus groups and therapeutic content for all parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities in Bromley.
Identity & Beliefs
Life before / after diagnosis – “Who am I now?”
Breaking limiting beliefs – replacing cannot and should not thoughts
Setting achievable goals and using a simple SWOT for the caring role
Well-being & Health
Mental-health and emotional-wellbeing awareness
“The carer and her health” – nutrition, rest and movement
Stress-relief tasters (beauty & relaxation activities)
Future & Community
Routes back into employment or volunteering
Building supportive networks that last beyond the course
Engaging with the wider community for long-term change
